 Refurbishing the Ultra-Freeze^®

The purpose of this section is to describe in detail the quality you can expect when you purchase a Refurbished Ultra-Freeze^® from RS CRYO Equipment.

First, a word on Ultra-Freeze^® tunnels available from other sources. 

Please be aware that much of the equipment being offered by various dealers across the country as "refurbished", is simply cleaned and crated for shipment with little regard for freezing efficiency or safety. 

When parts are replaced, they are not always to RS CRYOS' specification. 

If the freezer has been modified with these "non-standard" parts, you simply cannot predict the freezer's reliability, or freezing capacity. 

For the freezer to operate at peak efficiency insist on original equipment parts. 

Fan blades, motors, injection systems, exhaust systems and temperature controllers all work in harmony to freeze your customer's product efficiently and safely. 

Just because "the freezer was in service last year", does not mean it's the right solution for your customer. 

 RS Cryos' policy is to return the freezer to "like new" operating condition. 

Our goal is to provide equipment that you will be proud to offer and that your customer will be proud to have in their plant. 

A completely refurbished freezer should provide your customer with the same freezing satisfaction as a new piece of equipment. 

We do however understand the competitive nature of the used equipment market. 

If your project will not support the cost of a complete refurbishment, we will be happy to work with you in providing the most affordable solution possible. 

Our complete refurbishment includes at minimum the following items…

 1.        Completely disassemble freezer

2.        Clean inside and out

3.        Repair any penetrations to modules and doors using same technology or better than the original manufacturing process.

4.        Repair or replace doors as needed.

5.        Hinges and plungers are inspected, repaired as needed.

6.        Door latches inspected, adjusted, repaired or replaced as needed.

7.        Door gaskets inspected, upgraded, repaired or replaced as needed.

8.        Fan and drive motors tested, repainted, or replaced as needed.

9.        Fan shafts inspected.

10.     Fan shaft sleeve and bearing replaced.

11.     Fan blade inspected, and replaced as needed

12.     Bearing housing inspected and replaced as needed.

13.     Apparatus box and covers repaired or replaced as needed.

14.     Apparatus box reinstalled with new gaskets.

15.     Pedestals painted, repaired or upgraded as needed.

16.     Injection system tested, repaired, or upgraded as needed.

17.     Conveyor track cleaned, inspected, repaired or replaced as needed.

18.     Wear strip replaced as needed.

19.     Electrical console repainted as needed.

20.     Electrical controls tested and upgraded as needed.

21.     Temperature controls tested and upgraded as needed.

22.     Conveyor belt cleaned, inspected, repaired, or replaced as needed.

23.     Exhaust troughs cleaned, inspected and upgraded as needed.

24.     Baffles replaced or repaired as needed.

25.     Vapor control linkage inspected and replaced as needed.

26.     Belt brush and drive system inspected and repaired or replaced as needed.

27.     Limit switches tested and replaced as needed.

28.     Upper and lower doorstops inspected and replaced as needed.

29.     Gear box rebuilt as needed, oil changed.

30.     New safety warning labels installed.

31.     Completely reassemble freezer and test.

32.     Replace entry and exit curtains as needed.

33.     Replace loading deck and exit hoods as needed.

34.     Entry and exit vestibules inspected, repaired and repainted as needed.

35.     Provide blueprints and owner's manual.

36.     Conveyor sprockets replaced as needed.

37.     Drive chain and sprockets replaced as needed.

38.     Stainless parts glass bead blasted on request for like new appearance.

39.     Z-Tape, insulated jackets, RTD wire, and misc. hardware for installation provided.

40.     Complete same quality checklist used for new freezer production.
